The VSS 2000 measures the entire carcass from the side and back view with the help of 2 digital cameras.
The vision system is installed at the end of the slaughter line to measure the conformation and fat class of the carcass as well as to determine the weight of the value-determining cuts and the prediction of salable meat.
The system has been approved in the USA and is used in particular for the official classification of carcasses and for payment to producers. Besides, additional sorting characteristics for internal sorting are supplied via the yield estimate.
